    • Vera Cruz, Mexico

The HSVMA has partnered with the AAEP and the AAEP Foundation, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and the Donkey Sanctuary to help launch an Equitarian Workshop, to be held October 17-22 in Vera Cruz, Mexico.

This is a golden opportunity for veterinarians from the United States and Mexico to meet and learn about the best ways to provide care for working horses, mules and donkeys. The unique format will include lectures by veterinary professionals with experience in delivering care in rural areas, as well as real field experience in farming communities currently serviced by an established program of the veterinary school at UNAM.

Dr. Eric Davis, Director of HSVMA Field Services, and a presenting clinician at the workshop states, "The scientific, technical, medical and cultural curriculum has been specifically designed to prepare participants as effective equitarians and prepare them to help the worlds working equines and the people who depend on them. For those of us who have struggled in this field without a road map, it is a dream come true."

Detailed information about the workshop, including the registration form, can be found on the AAEP website.
