It is officially back to school time for our student members, and as the newest additions to the veterinary profession, we want to make sure that they have the resources in place to become the best in their field.
As you know, veterinary school is a challenge in and of itself.
But beyond the late night study sessions and anxiety over coursework, we know that our student members face other challenges—concerns about performing terminal surgeries, creating alternative tracks, and finding other like-minded students and professionals to share their struggles with.
Perhaps as a student you weren't concerned about traditional veterinary teaching methods, but now wish you had known that there was a different way. Maybe you were concerned at the time, but just didn't know what to do.
As an HSVMA professional member, you can provide advice, support and encouragement for our student members, reminding them that veterinary school is not just a means to an end, but a time when positive change can occur. There is no required time commitment, and you may be as involved as much or as little as you want.
If you are interested in being an HSVMA mentor, please send your contact information to us, including "Mentor" in the subject line.
To find out more about this new member opportunity, please contact Jen Pepson, Manager of Member Benefits and Services.
